it's a fascinating thing how personality comes through a process that might seem to hide that. These tracks were written across a nearly ten year time period and with different working methods, but they still feel very me - to me, at least. I found "Oscillated Incidents" written on a post-it note one day on my desk, and I thought, "I'm not going to come up with a more Robert sounding title than that." So here we are.

These songs are meant to evoke a space and a mood. I made them at home, on the subway, and even on trains, so often that mood is the strange mix of focussed calm as the world swirls busily around you. "Oscillated Incidents" is presented here as a continuous mix, with a second "disk" of the individual tracks.

Earlier syncretist work was more systematically focussed on blending things that might not seem to fit. On "Oscillated Incidents" I just worked to make evocative sounds and textures. What followed was a mix of tone, rhythm and noise, warm at times, cold at other moments, but ultimately hopeful.
